To rapidly respond to the El Nino drought emergency in Mozambique, the Immediate Response Mechanism (IRM) was activated on November 2, 2016 through a reallocation of $20 million from components A, B and C to the Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC). The IRM is progressing well with high levels disbursements to respond to the most immediate emergency needs in the country and implementation of activities is expected to be concluded in December 2018. An additional financing was approved on January 13, 2017, signed on February 20, 2017 and became effective on September 8, 2017, and all activities are under preparation.
