Ongoing and completed activities: Rabaraba and Solovi I and II crossings are completed. The original reseals program (119.17km) were completed, and the variation order for the completion of about 111km of resealing works are in-progress and scheduled to be completed by April 2021. New activities: FRA has finalized the designs of the three main groups of scheduled works: Kings Road Upgrade Project (KRUP), Queens Road Upgrade Project (QRUP) and Suva Arterial Roads Upgrading Project phase 2 (SARUP2) subprojects. The three packages account for about 80% of the total project funds including ADB, WB and GoF financing. KRUP Contract A was signed on November 18, 2020 and works are scheduled to start in January 2021. KRUP Contract B award is scheduled for January 2021 and works to start in mid-February 2021. QRUP Contract B is scheduled to be awarded in May 2021 and works to start in June 2020 for 12 months. SARUP2 will comprise the following four contracts: Package A should be awarded in February 2021; works to start in March 2021 for 15 months; Package B should be awarded in May 2021; works to start in June 2021 for 15 months; Package C should be awarded in April 2021; works to start in May 2021 for 15 months; Package D should be awarded in May 2021; works to start in June 2021 for 15 months. The following consultancy contracts are also under preparation: (i) SARUP2 design package, including supervision; (ii) safeguards and gender consultant; (iii) supervision of works on KRUP; (iv) supervision of works on QRUP; (v) design preparation for jetties in Nabouwalu, Natovi and Savusavu, which is combined with the consultancy contract for the design and due diligence of 40 critical bridges. This contract would be the biggest consultancy contract, which is expected to be awarded by the end of January 2021 and mobilized in February 2021.
