The target habitations of 7,631 are already connected and out of the target length of 22,520 km, 23,972 km (as of December 2016) is completed. As per clearances, a further 9,830 habitations can be connected if the project is extended. Target habitations as per DLIs are already connected. NRRDA is now focusing on implementation of the technical assistance activities. 16 states have notified their road maintenance policies. MORD has also adopted a national training framework to build capacity of rural road agencies as well as the construction industry to introduce best practice examples in the rural roads, for which a Tripartite Agreement between NRRDA, IAHE, NIRD and PR has been signed in early February 2017.
