The Project has advanced in accordance to its planed implementation and has yielded positive results. Regarding the Equity and Internal Efficiency Indicators: the information shows a significant reduction of the gap in repetition rates between quintiles. As of April 2016, the indicator is 4.1%, which surpasses the target for 2017 of 5.7%. In terms of expansion and rehabilitation of school infrastructure, 32 schools were built or rehabilitated. Regarding strengthening learning systems, in- service training has been provided to 1,841 Full Time School (FTS) teachers, 2,994 APRENDER school teachers, and 409 school Directors and Inspectors. Regarding the monitoring and evaluation component: 1. During 2015, the DIEE carried out an early warning assessment of children aged 3 to 5. The study focused on two departments (Colonia and Canelones), covering almost 150 schools. The dimensions assessed encompassed cognitive and non-cognitive skills, as well fine and gross motor skills. 2. In November 2015, INEED started an assessment of teaching practices in reading and writing.
