Malawi: Proposed Shire Valley Irrigation Project - Extension of Refinancing Date
of Project Preparation Advance (PPF No. Q9550)
Dear Honorable Gondwe:
We refer to the Letter Agreement (the Agreement) for the above-mentioned
Project Preparation Facility (PPF), dated December 19, 2014, between the Republic of
Malawi (the Recipient) and the International Development Association (the
Association). We also refer to the letter from the Secretary to the Treasury in the
Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, dated March 11, 2016, requesting the
extension of the Refinancing Date.
We are pleased to inform you that the Association agrees to your request to
extend the Refinancing Date, which is hereby amended from June 30, 2016 to July 31,
2017 (as per article III.3.03). All other provisions of the Agreement shall remain in force
and effect.
