Its intermediate outcomes are not yet observable. The investments remain consistent with both country and city development priorities. Contract award for five of seven civil works packages for the road component, which aims at increasing urban accessibility (reduced travel time), have been signed and the contractors are mobilizing. The pilot corridor improvements under the Public Transport Component are underway, and procurement of the new buses and intelligent transport systems is to commence to align with the completion of the upgraded pedestrian and bus shelter infrastructure. Together with Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Report No: ISR14590 the development of a Bus Management Operation Center (formerly the assignment for creation of a Public Transport Authority), which is expected to commence in the next few months, institutional improvements for public transport service delivery are expected to facilitate greater public transit usage. There have been delays in the completion of the shortlisting and issuance of the Request for Proposal for technical assistance on geo-spatial data management for road infrastructure, designed to strengthen capacity for managing urban development and transportation planning.
