Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR1667 The original IDA Credit, or USD 20 million, is nearly all disbursed. With these funds, village and town communities realized 550 sub-projects, compared to the target of 344. Public Disclosure Copy The (First) Additional Financing is an IDA Credit for USD 5 million. This supports community sub-project in villages and small towns that suffered from the 2009 floods on the Prut and Dniester Rivers. With these funds, communities have completed or are now implementing a large majority of their 58 approved sub-projects. The Second Additional Financing is an IDA Credit for USD 20 million. The central objective of this Credit is to infuse wage incomes into poor rural villages through public works. MSIF launched some public works ahead of effectiveness of the Second Additional Financing with the help of a generous Euro 1.8 million grant from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The grant was effective for 11 months. Over this limited time, MSIF disbursed almost 100 percent of the grant money and supported 30 community sub-projects. MSIF has approved 118 sub-projects for funding from the Second Additional Financing, of which 95 sub-projects were approved over the past 6 months. Twelve communities already finished their public works and communities are implementing a further 80 sub-projects. As a result, most of the Credit has been disbursed, pledged in writing to raion (district) administrations, or legally committed through construction contracts.
