The Project is comprised of two components: (i) Private Sector Internships and Training; and, (ii) Capacity Building and Policy Development. The recent ministerial restructuring moved the KYEP from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (which ceased to exist) to the Ministry of Devolution and Planning (MoDP). The MoDP coordinates the project and implements the Capacity Building and Policy Development component. Delivery of the Private Sector Internship and Training Component is outsourced to the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA). The Private Sector Training and Internship Component has completed four cycles of the six month internship program in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu. Recently, 1,411 young Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR13191 people completed cycle 3, bring the total number of young people completing the internship program to 3,157, and as of mid-December 2013, a further 2,340 young people were participating in cycle 4.
