Implementation Status Overview
The project is progressing well and has been rated satisfactory. The major results include: (i) generation of 10,832 tCO2e of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) from April 5, 2010
to December 31, 2010 after completion of the first verification, which was approved by the CDM Executive Board on April 19, 2013; (ii) sustainable operation of the composting facility
to continue processing 1,000 ton per day of municipal solid waste; (iii) improved marketing with a MOU signed with WWF to promote the use of compost for farming organic foods;
and (iv) good progress in implementing the monitoring plan including periodic surveys to the surrounding communities to monitor social and environmental impacts in accordance with
the Environmental Management Plan.
The project has completed the second verification for the period from January 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012, and the Designated Operational Entity (DOE) has submitted the request for
issuance of 60,710 tCO2e of CERs for the same period to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The project also received the DOE's site visit
from March 26-27, 2013 and the third verification for the period from April 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013 is currently ongoing.
