The project has made good progress in Garowe. The contractor completed all civil works, which includes the construction of four urban roads (4.93km) with Otta seal surfacing and associated side drains. A completion and handover certificate was issued in June 2020; the defects liability period will close in June 2021. Implementation progress in Mogadishu, however, has been slow due to delays in construction, relocation of utility lines, increased security risks, design modifications, heavy rains and relocation of project affected persons in Shangani District. An action plan will be jointly developed by the Mogadishu PIU and UNOPS in agreement with the contractor to expedite the completion of all remaining works well before the project closing date of September 30, 2021. 1/26/2021 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Somalia Urban Resilience Project (P163857) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance High High High Macroeconomic Moderate Moderate Moderate Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program Substantial Substantial Substantial Institutional Capacity for Implementation and High High High Sustainability Fiduciary Substantial Substantial Substantial Environment and Social Substantial Substantial Substantial Stakeholders High High High Other High High High Overall High High High Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes To support the reconstruction of key urban infrastructure in targeted areas IN00941290 ►People with access to all season roads within a 500 meter range (number, % female, % IDPs, % host communities) (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 2,000.00 Date 01-Aug-2018 15-Jul-2020 21-Jan-2021 30-Sep-2021 Data on this indicator will be available once civil works are completed in Mogadishu and after the endline Comments: survey is carried out in both cities before end-May 2021.
