The project has prepared an array of tools to guide implementation and coordination which are already finalized or being prepared for national validation. Innovative approaches are being developed at community-level around the early years interventions. The COVID- 19 has slowed down implementation to some extend as a result of the public health recommendations of social distancing. At the same time, the project provided an avenue to implement priority actions to prevent and mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, including the promotion of hand washing through installation of dedicated hand washing points, the management of acute malnutrition, and the strengthening of community resilience to household food and nutrition insecurity shocks. 10/30/2020 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Multisectoral Nutrition and Child Development Project (P161770) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance Substantial Substantial Moderate Macroeconomic Substantial Substantial Low Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Low Technical Design of Project or Program Moderate Moderate Low Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Substantial Substantial Moderate Sustainability Fiduciary Substantial Substantial Low Environment and Social Moderate Moderate Low Stakeholders Moderate Moderate Low Other -- -- -- Overall Substantial Substantial Low Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes Improve early child nutrition and development through community-based interventions IN00883231 ►Children 6–23 months of age who receive a minimum acceptable diet (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 12.50 14.30 12.50 22.00 Date 06-Jul-2017 31-Dec-2019 30-Jun-2020 30-Jun-2023 Updates for this indicator is dependent on survey data. Comments: Source: Project Monitoring System (SISE) Overall Comments PDO The results on the PDO indicators are encouraging. We will have to wait for the next survey to get results on the two survey dependent indicators, but the other indicators are all moving in the right direction. This is noteworthy given the initial delays in getting the project started but also the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Somehow the project is finding ways to continue the activities at community level albeit at a somewhat slower pace given the public health restrictions around social mobilization and in-person contact. 10/30/2020 Page 3 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Multisectoral Nutrition and Child Development Project (P161770) Intermediate Results Indicators by Components Early child nutrition and development interventions IN00883236 ►Children 0-5 months of age exclusively breastfed (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 23.50 23.50 23.50 35.00 Date 06-Jul-2017 31-Dec-2019 30-Jun-2020 30-Jun-2023 Updates for this indicator is dependent on survey data.
