Among all, the AusAID fund for the Project has contributed to provide 423,000 people with access of improved water facilities and about 394,000 with improved sanitation. The Project also helps to improve sanitation facilities in schools. However, the Project remains lagged behind for changing the people behavior on open defecation. Further, the project will improve sustainability of these outcomes by enhancing capacity of district and villages institutions in rural water supply and sanitation management.
