The assistance includes reforming the policy and regulatory framework; institutional strengthening and capacity building; mobilizing carbon-offset revenues; and, investment lending to support public and private developments. The Lahendong II geothermal project is operating well and meeting the project's development objective of mitigating the global environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions. It is helping meet the energy needs in the Minhasa grid in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, in an environmentally friendly manner. In 2010, the project produced 158,842 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity compared to an annual estimate of 146,467 MWh. As a result, the emission reductions (ERs), which are currently under verification by third party auditors, is 78,198 ERs surpassing by over thirteen percent the estimate of 68,836 ERs at the time of project design. The monitoring report for estimating 2011 emission reductions is currently underway.
