All markets have been completed. Contracts on the civil works for the feeder roads rehabilitation for phase II are in progress and almost 50% are completed with the remaining works expected to be complete by the end of June 2014. A total of 84 Farmer-based organizations have been supported with buildings and drying floors for rice and rice processing equipment (Rice mills, destoners and generators) and some have registered as cooperatives. For 2012/13 season, a total of 729.25 mt of grade 1 cocoa was exported and the cooperatives are attracting foreign businesses in Japan who are Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR15250 interested to invest in cocoa production in Sierra Leone. During 2013/14 season, the cocoa cooperatives and the Kayeigorma Cocoa Company have managed to export 733Mt (exceeding the target of 650Mt) of cocoa to TASHIBANA CO Ltd (Japan) in line with the contract agreement signed last year. The target for next season has been set at exporting 1,000 mt of grade 1 cocoa. This is meant to improve contract performance and ensure value-for-money as well as meeting the project development objectives. All outstanding procurements for phase II feeder roads rehabilitation completed and rehabilitation works in progress. ii. The feeder roads Maintenance Strategy prepared and implementation has started in other districts (coordinated by Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA). iii. This should also include activities on gender mainstreaming. The M&E framework should be reviewed to include this continuous feedback process into project implementation. viii. Results reporting has been enhanced and the PCU in collaboration with the Bank and Ministry of Finance and Economic Development undertook a learning trip for the project and the results were carried in various media in the country.
