and Grant (Fourth Growtl and Competiveness Operation) to the Republic of Burkina iE, o
The undersigned member of the Committee constituted under Section 1 (d) of Article I a I the
Articles of Agreement of Internation al Development Association (the Association) hereby subn i s his
recommendation pursuant to said Secti :n in respect of the proposal that the Association grant to the 1 ,:> >lic
of Burkina Faso a credit in an amount -quivalent to SDR 35,500,000 and a grant in an amount equii a e i t to
SDR 35,500,000. The purposes of said credit and grant are to enhance the Government's ability to: (ai e. Ice
costs in the agriculture and transport ; ectors; (b) improve transparency, accountability and public rI: c rce
management; and (c) reduce vulnerab lity to shocks.
1.     The member of the Committeo has carefully studied the merits of the proposal to grant such a c i -dit
and grant, and of the purposes to which the proceeds of the credit and grant are to be applied.
2.     The member of the Committee is of the opinion that the project toward the financing of w i:i the
proceeds of such credit and grant are to be applied comes within the purposes of the Association as .  -rth
in Article I of said Articles of Agrei,ment, and that said project is designed to promote the e;)  1 nic
development of the Republic of Burkii ia Faso and is of high developmental priority in the light of tI :i i -ds
of the Republic of Burkina Faso.
3.     Accordingly, the member of the Committee finds that said project merits financial assistan :t om
the Association, and hereby recomme: ids said project for such assistance.
