The project prepared a draft project annual working plan (PTBA) for 2021 and advanced on project coordination and the implementation of specific activities. The project coordination unit in close collaboration with the government and the World Bank has put in place a number of actions to facilitate the country’s response to COVID-19, including support to the production and distribution of personal protective equipment to women in markets as well as production and installation of handwashing devices at the entrance of markets. Public awareness campaigns were also initiated with a traditional communicator being recruited to promote awareness in public places, especially in the markets. It was recommended to establish a contingency plan to support the coordination of activities under the current limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic and volatile security situation. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was signed on December 29, 2020 and became effective on January 26, 2021. The first disbursement of GCF grant is expected by February 15, 2021.
