In addition, the Project will also provide support to further develop the regulatory framework for hazardous and industrial waste management in Montenegro. The Project is implemented by the national Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MSDT). The EPA has for this purpose established a Project Management Unit (PMU) and is supported by the Technical Services Unit (TSU under Ministry of Finance) for Procurement and Financial Management tasks. 12/28/2018 Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Industrial Waste Management and Cleanup Project (P122139) Since January 2017, important Government decisions have been made to launch the tender for the Bijela shipyard remediation works, start preparing the works at the Pljevjla and Gradac sites, and develop plans for the remediation at the two KAP project sites. After substantial delays in project implementation, the Bijela remediation works together with a contract for design and bidding documents preparation for the site in Gradac have started in the period May-June 2018 and first shipments for export of hazardous waste are expected in January 2019. A process of project restructuring that concerns remediation works at the coal ash disposal site in Pljevlja, reassesses the remediation works at the KAP location and will extent the project closing date to June 30, 2020 is expected to become effective in January 2019..
