The problem of importation of equipment for the $50m civil works contract (ICB/1), which has slowed down progress in implementation, has been resolved. In addition, contract CON/4 (feasibility study for phase 2) and ICB/3-3 (installation of drip irrigation) have been registered with MFERIT. A detailed plan of action to restore reliable electricity supply to the vertical drainage wells (VDWs) has been prepared after in-depth analysis, on the basis of which rehabilitation of these VDWs can start. As a Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR11062 result, disbursements have jumped from 25% to 35%. Adequate reporting on the implementation of the RAP and ESMP through quarterly progress reports has been undertaken, and an updated Procurement Plan has been prepared. Procurement needs continued monitoring to ensure timely completion. At present, procurement of amelioration equipment (FVWRMP/GEQ/1) and hardware and software for SCADA pilot system (FVWRMP/GEQ/5) are being processed. Progress in the feasibility study for phase 2 (FVWRMP/CON/2) also needs to be monitored carefully. Restructuring History There has been no restructuring to date.
