Despite a 10-month gap from Board-approval to effectiveness, the Project has picked up significant pace over the last 18 months and its current implementation progress has been satisfactory, based on its financial progress and the current status of results achievement on the 1/9/2020 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project for North Eastern Nigeria (P157891) ground (please refer the results section of the ISR for details). The likelihood of achievement of the Project Development Objective (PDO) of the intended project outcomes and results is now rated as high. To date, total project disbursements from the World Bank to the Government of Nigeria stand at USD 95 million (of the USD200 million IDA Credit), representing 46% of the total project allocation amount. Component 1 – Strengthening Peace Building, Stability and Social Cohesion. The activities on the distribution of non-food items (NFI), agricultural kits and small ruminants have either exceeded the original targets or in some cases, are close to reaching the initial targets. Gender targets have also been generally exceeded with the exception of Yobe state, where greater gender targeting is needed and was agreed during the recent MTR mission. The distribution of non-agricultural kits is still largely underway, with implementation having been completed in Borno state and yet to start in Adamawa and Yobe states. While the female targeting for the distribution of NFI, non-agricultural kits and small ruminants has been well achieved, the female targeting of agricultural kits has been comparatively weaker. Any future scale-up of distributions will need to accord a greater emphasis on the female targeting for agricultural kits. Component 2 – Infrastructure Rehabilitation and Service Delivery Restoration and Improvement. The PAD target for this component (combined infrastructure projects) is 1237 of which 390.(32%) have been completed while 284 (23%) are either in physical implementation stage or in active procurement stage. At MTR, the combined percentage of completed and on-going projects is 55% (674 projects). Water and Sanitation activities have the highest number 355 completed and 165 on going followed by public building 17 and 41 respectively. At MTR, the 3 PCUs have signed contracts worth of USD27.63 million against which the disbursed amount is USD15.36 million.
