The project development objective (PDO) remains relevant to the priorities of the Government of India and the state government, and GoUP continues to be strongly committed to achieving them. End of project targets of two of the PDO level indicators and two of the six intermediate indicators have been achieved. However, project implementation is delayed, partly due to the lockdown in the state from end-March to September 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The state government and the Bank are currently finalizing plans to restructure the project to ensure that activities are completed by the loan closing date of December 31, 2022 and PDO are achieved. Some of the project main achievements in its target areas are summarized below. 1. New pro-poor approaches and practices are being tested with a focus on participatory destination planning and investments, with over 2,000 consultations conducted. 2. Creative industries have been mapped and business development plans for economic clusters with the highest potential to increase the income of poor craftspeople and artisans are being implemented. 4. Hospitality training is supporting low income service providers, including street vendors, taxi drivers, and hostel owners. 5. A Monitoring and Information System has been established, timely measuring trends and project results.
