The mission found that the implementation of the Project activity in achieving its objectives are mostly on schedule and on track. Strong commitment from the major stakeholders, especially the associations of the four health professions Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Report No: ISR1766 involved in this project and the organizations ofhealth professional education institutions built from the beginning is maintained. However, during the 2nd Implementation Review Mission, it is agreed that Inter-ministerial coordination, especially with the Ministry of Health, needs to be improved to clarify several issues that could potentially hamper the Project in Public Disclosure Copy achieving its objectives. These issues include the decision on the body of authority to validate the standards for nurses and midwives; the process to accredit nursing and midwifery Diploma3 level education institutions; and the process to certify the competencies of both professions. The CPCU will organize meetings involving major stakeholders and prepare materials and policy options for the Steering Committee meeting. The stakeholder meetings will take place after the wrap up until the end of October, 2010 The next (Third) Implementation Review is scheduled to be conducted in early to mid February 2011 Restructuring History There has been no restructuring to date.
