The grant will support the enhancement of the procurement system by aligning it with good international practices, the strengthening of institutions and procedures, the training of stakeholders, and the creation of a roadmap for the GoJ to realize their e-Procurement ambitions. Beneficiaries of these efforts will include civil servants of procuring entities, supervising entities, and regulatory authorities; and Civil Society and private sector representatives involved in the provision or oversight of goods, consultant services, non-consultant services, and works. Page 1 of 3 The World Bank Report No: ISR10078 There has been several visits and follow ups with the Project team including a one day Training on Selection of Consultants in October 2012, and discussions on requirements of e- procurement. Component 1: Strengthening public procurement regulations and system As the result of continuous changes in the Government, the Procurement by-law has not been ratified yet, as the result of which there has not been any progress on this component Public Disclosure Copy as of yet. The implementing agency while following up with ratification of the by-law, is planning a number of capacity building workshops to increase the countries procurement and contract management capacity. Component 2: Create a road map for web-based e-procurement implementation in Jordan In parallel with the Grant, the implementing agency had prepared an RFP for implementation of the e-procurement in Jordan, which resulted in a very diverse response from various firms that further showed the need for a clear and defined road map. Currently a Draft TOR for required consultancy services has been prepared which is being finalized by the Client. Component 3: External Audit Jordanian Audit Bureau has been selected as Extrenal Audit, the contract for which is being finalized. Disbursement: US$ 75,000 has been received at the Designated Account, which except for US$ 5.00 transaction cost, has not been disbursed yet.
