All civil works at targetted 43 schools and related lab equipment were delivered. School community grants were successfully implemented and the CCTs to girls in grades 4-12 and boys in grades 10-12 were paid in select districts. Support for 89 female teaching staff in rural areas, as well as capacity building of mothers and fathers council have been constantly provided as planned. The package of demand-side intervention have proven to be effective in improving girls enrollment and retention in rural areas. Despite the incredibly difficult country circumstances, the Yemen team managed to process several procurement packages and keep up-to-date records. Had it not been for the current crisis, they would certainly have been able to achieve even more. Key consultancy by Education Research and Development Center (ERDC) that concerns PDO indicator 4 and outcome indicator 2.6. has been aborted due to the suspension of disbursement and lack of GoY financing. In addition, teacher training (that concerns outcome indicator 2.5) has been also canceled due to lack of GoY financing. Those are the only unacomplished activities, however, anecdotal evidence collected by PAU and MoE team strongly suggest that the project significantlly contributed to encourage girls schooling in disadvantaged and rural areas and awareness towards school based management and enhanced accountability at community level has been achieved. 5/31/2015 Page 2 of 9 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Secondary Education Development and Girls Access Program (P089761) 5/31/2015 Page 3 of 9 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Secondary Education Development and Girls Access Program (P089761) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance  --  Substantial  High Macroeconomic  --  Substantial  High Sector Strategies and Policies  --  Low  Low Technical Design of Project or Program  --  Low  Low Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Sustainability  --  Moderate  Moderate Fiduciary  --  Moderate  Moderate Environment and Social  --  Low  Low Stakeholders  --  Low  Low Other  --  --  -- Overall  --  Moderate  Moderate Results Project Development Objective Indicators PHINDPDOTBL  Gender parity index in student enrollment in the intervention governorates (Text, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target to be updated on to be updated once the Value 0.43 January 15 once the 0.60 AES data is processed AES data is processed Date 19-Feb-2008 20-Dec-2014 15-May-2015 15-May-2015 PHINDPDOTBL  G10 to G12 male retention rate in the intervention districts (Text, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target to be updated on January 15, 2015 once to be updated once the Value 73.0 the AES data is AES data is processed 81.0 processed for this for this indicator. indicator. 5/31/2015 Page 4 of 9 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Secondary Education Development and Girls Access Program (P089761) Date 19-Feb-2008 10-Jun-2014 15-May-2015 31-May-2015 PHINDPDOTBL  G10 to G12 female retention rate in the intervention districts (Text, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target to be updated on to be updated once the January 15, 2015 once Value 78.3 AES data for this 84.3 the AES data for this indicator is processed. indicator is processed.
