However, the overall implementation of the project is considered "satisfactory" as the works are underway and advancing despite the initial delays due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Works are currently advancing on nine sections of the corridor out of ten, but some delays have been reported mainly due to COVID-19 and might result in works completion delay. In parallel, the main studies under component 2 are advancing : it is however essential to increase the pace, notably regarding the restructuring and traffic and parking studies which are prerequisites for the works on this component 2. The implementation of social and environmental safeguards is rated Moderately Satisfactory. The resettlement has been completed on most sections of BRT (9 out of 10 sections) corridor: a total of 2952 People Affected by the Project (PAP) have been identified, of which 6% remain to be compensated. In Petersen, there is a need to design an overall urban development plan and to address the issue of transport operators. The recruitment process of the BRT operator is ongoing and its completion is expected before July 2021. It is expected the fleet of buses to be electric. It is imperative that the operator who shall purchase, operate and maintain the fleet of buses be recruited before summer 2021.
