One hundred and 12/8/2015 Page 1 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Jamaica Social and Economic Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (P144263) sixty (160) PWDs are expected to be trained during Round 2, which is underway, through five consultant contracts with training organizations. Lessons learned from Round 1 have led to improvements in the design of key Round 2 activities. Specifically, there is now mandatory literacy and numeracy training, given the challenges related to low literacy and numeracy skills among beneficiaries of Round 1. A training needs assessment of Persons with Disabilities in PATH and a capacity assessment of NGOs providing Skills Training to PWDs have been completed and will inform future work. A Rapid Assessment of Component 1 is expected to commence in September 2015, and will help identify constraints, lessons, and recommend improvements to increase effectiveness and results. A Labor Market Study is expected to commence by December 2015. For Component 2, forty-one (41) ESP staff were trained as part of a Staff Development and Planning Workshop in October 2014 and the Project has financed yearlong professional development courses for staff at the University of the West Indies’ School of Continuing Studies. Program areas include General Psychology, Principles and Techniques of Counselling, Child Psychology and Development, Supervisory Management, Practical Home Nursing, among others. A Needs Assessment and Institutional Review of the ESP is expected to be finalized by end of October 2015 and initial results are available. Under Component 3, an Excel database has been created to capture information on beneficiaries currently accessing services under the Project and to support overall M&E of Project interventions. Additionally, a document outlining key requirements for the ESP MIS has been developed to guide its development. 12/8/2015 Page 2 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Jamaica Social and Economic Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (P144263) 12/8/2015 Page 3 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Jamaica Social and Economic Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (P144263) Risks Overall Risk Rating Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Overall  Moderate  --  Moderate Results Project Development Objective Indicators PHINDPDOTBL Persons with disabilities who receive employment after completing training (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 123.00 300.00 Date 23-Aug-2013 28-Oct-2014 20-Oct-2015 30-Dec-2016 Comments Of the 201 persons enrolled in Round 1 Training interventions, 123 received employment.
