Implementation Status Overview
This project became effective in November 2009 following the Board approval in June 2008.
The PCU has made progress on the implementation of activities under components 1, 2 and 3. Under Component 1, the PCU has launched a pilot activity for carrying out 25 energy
efficiency audits in SMEs. Progress has also been made under Component 3 to support the Argentine Institute for Standardization and Certification (IRAM) in the development of new

energy efficiency standards for appliances. The purchase of 25 million CFL's under component 2 is nearly completed with government counterpart financing only. Under discussion is
the proposal to reallocate the GEF funds originally planned for CFL purchase to a credit line dedicated to EE activities in SMEs.
