In the long run, the project should contribute to increasing and diversifying rural household incomes and economic opportunities. It supports the development of a vibrant and diversified commercial agriculture as a means to move away from subsistence agriculture, which is often synonymous to poverty for a majority of rural households. The milestones dates are the following: The Pre-Appraisal mission of the additional financing was held on January 10-24, 2013. The appraisal virtual meeting was held during January 16-23, 2013. The decision note was cleared on January 28, 2013; Negotiations was held during February 12-14, 2013 ; Board Approval on March 28, 2013; Signature is planned fro the end of May, 2013. During this period the project started the planned program on up-grading current sub-projects. Moreover 67 subproject planned for the funding of PAPAM project ( an another agriculture operation) but the project did not get this funding. The project is using the remaining fund of FCFA 350 millions equivalent US$1,3 millons to undertake the up-grade of the sub-projects (FCFA 110 millions) and the funding of unless 37 percent of sub-projects previously planned for PAPAM.
