Implementation Status and Key Decisions
To date, under the PMAMSIMAS program, 23.57 million people have benefited with access to improved water facilities (exceeding the target of 22.1
million people) in 34,700 villages, and 16.4 million people have now access to improved sanitation facilities (exceeding the target of 14.9 million). At
the same time, 89.3 percent of the targeted communities effectively manage and finance their water supply system (on track to meet the target of 90

percent). Finally, 36.700 villages have prepared their Community Action Plans (CAPs) exceeding the target of 27,000. The institutionalization of the
platform is making steady progress with 98% of the districts replicating the PAMSIMAS approach outside the targeted communities.
The World Bank loan will be closing on December 31, 2021. However, The collaboration platform developed over the past years under PAMSIMAS
will be continued to pursue the development of the water and sanitation services in rural areas under Bappenas leadership and coordination. The
current PAMSIMAS program arrangements will be replicated under the new Rural Water Supply (RWS) program. The GoI plan is to continue the
program using government-owned budget.
