The MTR confirmed that the Project Development Objective (PDO) and Project design continue to be relevant and with broad support from the Indigenous Peoples as verified through discussions and support expressed in meetings with the National Council for the Development of Indigenous Peoples (CONDIPI). The Project continues to be critical to close existing inclusion gaps between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples. Despite recent implementation progress, the PDO will not be achieved within the remaining implementation period. 3/16/2022 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Support for the National Indigenous Peoples Development Plan (P157575) During the MTR (May-August 2021) a detailed 6-month Action Plan was developed in conjunction with the authorities to accelerate implementation progress .This Action Plan focuses on: (i) Strengthening Implementation Arrangements and Coordination; (ii) Accelerating Implementation; (iii) Ensuring Adequate Closing of COVID 19 Response Plan; and (iv) Readiness for Monitoring and Evaluation. The Project has also had significant progress in priority health and education works and has made progress in transformative areas such as intercultural bilingual education and intercultural health.
