The objective of the Program is to promote equitable access to education services, enhance quality of student learning, and strengthen the education systems in the education sector in Lebanon in response to the protracted refugee crisis. The Program is part of and contributes to the financing of the second phase of the Lebanese Republic's RACE Program (2016-2021), which focuses on formal education service provision and consists of the following: (i) increasing equitable access by Lebanese and non-Lebanese children to formal schooling in primary and secondary schools; (ii) enhancing quality of education services; and (iii) strengthening the Lebanese education system at both the central and regional levels. The Lebanese Republic carries out the Program through the Ministry of Education and Higher Education ("MEHE") and the Center for Educational Research and Development ("CERD"). The Program's Financial Management Team (FMT) within the MEHE is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the Program and the preparation of the Program's financial information. Support to Reaching All Children with Education (RACE 2 Program) will contribute to MEHE and CERD's achievement of each of the RACE 2 outcomes in the formal education sector, while building capacity in both organisations, by delivering results against nine disbursement linked indicators (DLIs) and their associated disbursement linked results (DLRs). This financial information only covers the cash receipts and cash payments of Grant No. TF0A4753 for the period from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021 ("the six-month period"). L7 Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Republic of Lebanon Support to Reaching All Children with Education (RACE 2 Program) - Grant TF0A4753 Notes to the financial information S for the six-month period ended 31 December 2021 1 Program background L The Lebanese Republic has obtained from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development ("IBRD") of the World Bank and from the International Development Association ("IDA"), together "the Administrators", two grants (TF0A4753 and TF0A3064) and a loan (5905-LB) of US$ 100 million, US$ 4 million and US$ 100 million respectively to finance the implementation of the program "Support to Reaching All Children with Education (RACE 2) Program, ("the Program"). The objective of the Program is to promote equitable access to education services, enhance quality of student learning, and strengthen the education systems in the education sector in Lebanon in response to the protracted refugee crisis. The Program is part of and contributes to the financing of the second phase of the Lebanese Republic's RACE Program (2016-2021), which focuses on formal education service provision and consists of the following: (i) increasing equitable access by Lebanese and non-Lebanese children to formal schooling in primary and secondary schools; (ii) enhancing quality of education services; and (iii) strengthening the Lebanese education system at both the central and regional levels. The Lebanese Republic carries out the Program through the Ministry of Education and Higher Education ("MEHE") and the Center for Educational Research and Development ("CERD"). The Program's Financial Management Team (FMT) within the MEHE is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the Program and the preparation of the Program's financial information.
