Construction activities are progressing relatively well and implementation of the Performance Based Grant Phase 1 is progressing well and demonstrate results. Verification for Kabupaten Sukoharjo and Kota Magelang have been completed and subject to result of audit, will be eligible to receive the Performance-Based Grant based on their achieved results in NRW reduction and/or Energy Efficiency improvement. Technical assistance and capacity building for LGs/PDAMs are progressing with implementation of trainings and workshops (conducted as hybrid virtual and face-to-face), continuous technical assistant support from the CPMU and CPIU consultants, as well as deployment of the Field Assistant teams to work with LGs/PDAMs. The Central Advisory Consultant provides support to the CPMU and National Steering Committee on Housing and Settlement (chaired by Bappenas) in documenting all lessons learned from the project implementation to develop recommendations to further strengthen the NUWAS Framework. 12/1/2022 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report National Urban Water Supply Project (P156125) The completed construction in 16 locations have increased PDAMs capacity in expanding and improving their services. All PDAMs are experiencing increase number of customers and revenue as the results of project intervention. Despite delays due to budget refocusing for COVID-19 response, participating LGs continue demonstrating commitment to support their respective PDAMs either through increased equity contribution and providing grant as part of the counterpart funding, and/or supporting their PDAMs to access non-public financing. The project continues collaboration and coordination with other development partners such as USAID, SECO, Water.Org, and DFAT in providing support to PDAMs and local governments in developing technical assistance and capacity building programs and to ensure complementary of activities. The project also work closely with PERPAMSI (Association of Indonesian Water Utilities) to disseminate best practices and innovations from PDAMs participating in the project to other LGs/PDAMs, as well as in linking PERPAMSI with institutions such as Infrastructure Asia and ImagineH2O to bring international innovations.
