                The Executive Directors of the World Bank are keenly aware of the great
         advances made by the Bank in the fieJd of development under Hr. McNamara's
         leadership.        Desiring to ensure continuing progress, they have unanimously
         adopted a resolution re-appointing Mr. Robert S. McNamara as President of the
         World Bank for a further term of five years beginning April I, 1978.


                Hr. McNamara has agreed to serve another term as President of the
         International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, of the International
