Progress has been observed on the SMA PDO and intermediate indicators. PDO indicator 2 has been reported to have been exceeded, with 18 SMAs (against an end target of 15) effectively implementing compliance measures. The related intermediate results indicator: Selected SMAs receiving technical support on generating alternative revenue streams has previously been exceeded and discussions are ongoing with SMAs to best determine the needs of communities. Giant clam programs were delivered to 3 SMA’s (‘Eueiki, ‘Atat and Ha’atafu) during this reporting period. A supervision mission is tentatively scheduled for June 2022 [in anticipation of border reopening for official travel] to allow the Government of Tonga to address priority actions arising from the HTHH disaster and to prepare in-depth progress reporting in preparation for a planned mid-term review in October 2022.
