Environmental and Social Assessment (ESIA) report has been prepared and published on IPIG and WB websites. The average compliance level as per audit results shows 72.4% which is above the anticipated end target rate of 55%. While the overall indicator has been achieved, the team agreed to focus its attention on improving the indicators of three critical elements, which were rated the lowest in the Comments: ICAO audit. The three elements include 1) the qualified technical personnel with a compliance level of 35.71%; 2) surveillance obligations (53,95%); 3) resolution of safety issues (54,35%). All three indicators are expected to be improved as a result of the work carried out as part of the Aviation Component under CARs-3 project. The procurement work is currently underway to address the identified gaps. The number of crossing vehicles is lower than expected due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which heavily affected the region and its traffic volume.
