The project is still on course to meet its development objective. Progress has been made especially with regard to the signing of the ministerial order on March 16, 2022 for the implementation of the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE). The decree represents a major step in the institutionalization of the long-term vision of the Project corresponding to the objective of strengthening the national informal learning system and the employability of young people.. In order to achieve the Development Objective of the Project and to catch up on delays, key activities to be achieved in the next months include Capital grants for modernizing the equipment in the beneficiary workshops: with the implementation of the entrepreneurial training and the validation of the disbursement of the capital grant process, Master crafts persons should be able to start purchasing equipment subsidized by the program starting in April 2022. This is a key activity of the project involving large parts of the allocated Project funds. 5/4/2022 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Improving Youth Employability Through Informal Apprenticeship (P167681) Beneficiary selection: The bulk of the second wave workshops have been selected. Launch of a communication strategy. In order to better inform trainees and master craftsperson around the different components to ensure high participation, low drop out rates, and avoid delays in implementation an improved communication strategy needs to be developed and launched.
