The project is multi-sectorial and is being implemented in close cooperation with the state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic: the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MoES) of the Kyrgyz Republic (Implementing Agency), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, State Agency for 11/22/2022 Page 1 of 11 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Enhancing Resilience in Kyrgyzstan Project (P162635) Architecture, Construction, Housing and Communal Services (SAAHCCS), and the State Service for Financial Market Regulation and Supervision (SSFMRS). In addition, the Ministry of Health is actively involved in the Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC) activity implementation. Overall, the project is on track to meet its Project Development Objective. Disbursement of the project is satisfactory at around 28% and is above the projected disbursement rate. Under Component 1, Under Component 1, most activities have been implemented or are near completion. The key tasks remaining are the development of a firefighting service development program and the preparation of emergency plans for landslides. Under Component 2, activities have progressed well over the last 6 months under the AF, but activities are delayed under the parent project. Construction for the first 10 schools is expected to begin in Spring next year. Support is also being provided to improve the Education Management Information System to develop the school infrastructure module. Under Component 3, the bulk of the activities planned has been completed and current efforts are focused on the implementation of the mandatory disaster insurance program and supporting progress in the establishment of the disaster insurance pool. However, during monitoring visits in the field in the first semester of 2021, it was discovered that 2 sets of equipment were not connected to water and sewerage. Further monitoring was conducted to verify the operational status of all the equipment. PIU had submitted the official request letter to the MOH management, but the actions haven't been taken yet due to ongoing changes in the MOH management.
