There are three result areas; (a) Increased social transfers, basic services, and livelihood support to poor and vulnerable households, (b) Increasing food security and safe functioning of food supply chains for poor households and (c) Facilitating Recovery and Enhancing Capabilities of Micro and small enterprises. The operation is also to strengthen the institutions and mechanism for Federal and State coordination and delivery of results. The US$750 million Program for Result (PforR) operation was approved on December 14, 2020 and is now expected to close on June 30, 2024. The operation became effective in September 2021 and implementation, though constrained by the delay in contracting the Independent Verification Agent (IVA), started at the Federal level and in all 36 States plus the Federal Capital Territory in 2022. The Program implementation has made significant progress as demonstrated by the first and second verification of results conducted in December 2022 and in July 2023. The Program was restructured in mid-2023 in response to the request of government to address the emerging impact of flooding that affected a large number of households, farms and small business in late calendar year 2021 and early 2022. Two more assessments of results are expected in early and mid-2024 and improvement in performance is expected. It is projected that the Program would be disbursed fully and the targets achieved by the new closing date of June 2024.
