Nevertheless, some achievements can be noted. A national framework for certifying competencies acquired through informal training is operational and all 12 competency-based training programs have been produced or revised. In addition, 5,503 apprentices have been identified to participate in the skills verification process (out of a planned 15,000), of which 10 percent are women (compared to a target of 35 percent). In addition, the following number of apprentices have completed or are in the process of completing training: (a) 12,345 apprentices in literacy; (b) 11,632 in socio-emotional skills; and (c) 13,374 in management/entrepreneurship. In addition, 6,715 craftspersons have received training/capacity building, 750 youth beneficiaries have received their entrepreneurship “seed funding” (cash-grant) to start a new business or improve productivity of their current businesses.
