This is the project’s first Implementation and Results Report, which covers progress in project implementation since the project became effective as reviewed with the Government in the in-person implementation support mission that took place between February 6-9, 2022. The operation is supporting the Government of Panama’s disaster risk management (DRM) program across three policy pillars: (i) Strengthening the institutional framework for management and response to the impact of climate and disaster risk in a post-COVID context; (ii) Strengthening climate risk hazards identification and disaster risk assessment capabilities; and (iii) Development of territorial responsibilities for disaster risk management. The framework of the Panama’s DRM program is satisfactory for the World Bank and progress has been made in this reporting period in accordance with the commitments and results indicators defined by the operation.
