The overall Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve oversight of fiscal and human resources as well as enhance the skills of public sector officials in Guinea-Bissau. To achieve this objective, the project is structured around three components: (i) strengthening oversight and management of fiscal resources; (ii) strengthening human resource performance management systems and practices; and (iii) strengthening capacities for core government functions. Since effectiveness, the most recent implementation support mission (September 10-15, 2023) noted the progress related to: (i) the finalization of the recruitment of key personnel, including the project coordinator, the Administrative and Financial Officer, as well as the procurement specialist, who have since taken up their duties; as well as (ii) the availability of the premises to house the project implementation unit.
