Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? No Components Table Name Climate and Nutrition Smart Technology Adaptation and Dissemination:(Cost $7.00 M) Income Generation and Diversification:(Cost $7.00 M) Improving Nutrition Security:(Cost $5.00 M) Project management, communication and M&E:(Cost $3.70 M) Overall Ratings Name Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating Substantial Substantial Implementation Status and Key Decisions Of the nine agreed actions the Project has completed eight. Implementation progress against the results indicators show that the Project has already met its target for (a) improved dietary intake by nursing mothers (24 percent over the baseline) and children under 6 and 24 months (31 percent over the baseline), (b) seed replacement rate for major cereals which now stands at 30 percent over the baseline value of 20 percent, (c) 20,630 people are now receiving improved nutrition services and products against the target of 21,000, and (d) validation of appropriate technology in the Project target area has been completed. Rest of the indicators such as (a) increased productivity of meat, milk, and vegetables, (b) improved household income, (c) construction of post-harvest facilities, (d) farmers adopting improved technology, (e) matching grant support, and (f) number of producer groups to be supported are on track to meet the target. 1619 producer groups (878 – crops, 741 livestock) have been formed, out of which project supported 1516 groups have received project interventions so far.A total of 397 business plans (matching grants) from the groups have been funded by the project accounting to 56 percent of the targeted 710 by the project end.By the end of June 2022, 32 market infrastructures 3/20/2023 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Food and Nutrition Security Enhancement Project (P164319) and postharvest facilities constructed and/or rehabilitated till date, which is around 40 percent of the targeted 80 by the project end . Project has formed 860 nutrition groups which exceeded the target i.e. 840. By this ISR 840 nutrition/mother groups are supported through nutrition interventions reaching out to 20630 beneficiaries, 98% of eop target of 21,000 beneficiaries. Small grants (with an approx. ceiling of NPR 5,00,000) were provided to 324 beneficiaries groups based on the soundness of their proposals. Citizen Engagement and Beneficiary Satisfaction Survey The mission noted that project continued to engage, inform and interact with local communities through various means such as the social mobilizers, farmer field school facilitators, and interaction with beneficiaries during consultation reviews.
