Activities that will serve as the basis or references of PDO indicators are underway: 1. to develop a comprehensive framework for sustainable urban mobility in Ulaanbaatar: the contract for the consulting firm to develop the Sustainable Urban Mobility Strategy for Ulaanbaatar has been awarded in early October; the consultant to develop the Guidelines for the Transport Infrastructure Investment Plan (TIIP) started its assignment in May 2023; the Guidelines for the Transport Asset Management Plan (TAMP) have been completed. Other prefeasibility studies on on-demand transit (ODTS) and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) are on- going. 2. to reduce congestion on selected transport corridors (measured through travel time reductions), as well as to address climate resilience: the consultants in charge of detailed design and supervision on the four Phase 1 corridors started their assignments in May 2023, and the 11/7/2023 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Ulaanbaatar Sustainable Urban Transport Project (P174007) recruitment of the consultants in charge of the two Phase 2 corridors is in-progress, in line with the project implementation plan; a study on flood resilience is ongoing; and, 3. to improve road safety: first workshops were held during the mission in July 2023. The Bank team is monitoring project related activities and coordinating the progress on corporate commitments with the Project Management Office.
