Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? No Components Table Name Improvement of rural transport infrastructure:(Cost $42.50 M) Rural road maintenance:(Cost $3.25 M) Operational support for the Project:(Cost $6.50 M) Overall Ratings Name Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating Substantial Substantial Implementation Status and Key Decisions To date, about 258.61 km of rural roads were rehabilitated out of the total planned 650 km, about 392 km of rural remain to be rehabilitated. Given the joint decision to improve the technical standards of roads of the second phase based on the lessons learned from the first phase, the remaining budget of the project is expected to finance about 250 km of additional rural roads. Therefore, the final target value in terms of linear kilometer of rural roads rehabilitated has been revised. About 191,299 people were provided access to all-season roads, 177 basic social services (schools and health centers), 43.85% of rural markets and 75 irrigated agricultural sites are now accessible because of the rehabilitation of 258.61 km of rural roads. Community infrastructures such as solar street lighting, wells and outdoor toilets demanded by the local community living along the already completed project roads are already identified and are expected to be completed by end of June 2022. The project has also contributed to skills improvement and job creation in the project area because the number of short-term jobs in person-days worked is about 117,689 and the number of persons trained in road maintenance is about 432. 10/12/2023 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Rural Mobility and Connectivity Project (P164498) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance High Substantial High Macroeconomic Substantial Substantial High Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program Moderate Substantial Substantial Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Substantial Substantial Substantial Sustainability Fiduciary Substantial Substantial Substantial Environment and Social High Substantial Substantial Stakeholders Moderate Substantial Substantial Other -- Substantial Substantial Overall Substantial Substantial Substantial Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes Improved road access of farming communities to production sites in selected areas.
