The first Project Development Objective indicator (increase in productivity of agricultural produce of the priority value chains of project supported farmers) reached 62.62% against the endline target of 35%. The second PDO indicator (Increase in processed output of the priority value chains by project beneficiaries) reached 64.86% against the project target of 40%, while the third indicator (number of beneficiaries supported by the project) reached 61,171 against the endline target of 60,000 (101.95%) with 43.24% being women against the endline target of 35%. 9/13/2023 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support Project (P148616) The participating States have continued to make progress in the implementation of infrastructure activities. A total of 60 out of 90 Aggregation and Cottage Processing Centers (ACPCs) have been so far fully completed. About 52.76km out of 80km of farm access roads (FAR) have been completed, while 144 and 6 water and energy infrastructure linked to production and processing clusters have been completed. The project has continued to contribute to the national food basket across the different value chains. There was an average of 44.65% increase in the output of the eleven commodities. This increase was attributed to additional implementation of 694 Value Chain Investment Plans (VCIPs) bringing the total number of implemented VCIPs at 3,588. Under the Women and Youth Empowerment Program (WYEP), all the approved Business Investment Plans (8,535) have been implemented. In terms of livelihood enhancement, the project has empowered 61,171 direct beneficiaries (43.24% being women) and provided opportunity to persons with disability to participate in productive activities. The sustainability plans embedded in the project by design were fully implemented by the states. Participating States have also designed exit strategies and advancing project sustainability focusing more on infrastructure, business alliances and out-grower scheme, technology demonstration, women and youth, support to collaborating institution and knowledge sharing. Farmers have been organized to form Associations with duly elected officials to run their Associations (at cluster, Local Government Areas, and State levels) and have established mechanism for access to second level finance.
