The Beirut Mount Lebanon Water Establishment (BMLWE) has completed all the water networks and put them into service since June 2019. In addition, the SCADA operation room is operational at BMLWE; and the pilot zone of 24/7 continuous water supply, supported under the component strengthening the capacity of the BMLWE, was extended to additional 17 zones within the greater Beirut area. BMLWE is also installing smart water meters within the project area. Based on the last supervision mission in May 2023, the procurement for the remaining tunnel works is still ongoing and the construction of the Wardanieh Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is advancing. 7/27/2023 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report LB- GREATER BEIRUT WATER SUPPLY (P103063) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance -- High High Macroeconomic -- High High Sector Strategies and Policies -- Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program -- Moderate Moderate Institutional Capacity for Implementation and -- Low Low Sustainability Fiduciary -- Substantial Substantial Environment and Social -- Substantial Substantial Stakeholders -- Moderate Moderate Other -- -- -- Overall -- Substantial Substantial Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes Increase the provision of potable water to the residents in the project area IN01289983 ►Volume (million cum/year) of additional potable water distributed in the project area (cumulative) (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 45.00 Date 16-Dec-2010 17-Mar-2022 15-Jun-2023 30-Nov-2022 The remaining bulk infrastructure works not completed yet are the tunnel an pipelines remining works and Comments: the Water Treatment Plant.
