GESTIP became effective in February 2019 and was restructured in June 2022 to accommodate evolving sector priorities. The project close date is December 2023. GESTIP has made clear progress in advancing project activities. Three key results have been achieved so far and include: (a) 100 percent of power sector revenues are allocated to sector entities through the Cash Waterfall Mechanism; (b) Gas supply and demand study is now complete; (c) Utility Performance Improvement Plan Guidelines have been prepared, (d) NEDCO’s distribution system plan along with its specifications and construction standards updated, and (e) roughly 135 sector staff (of a targeted 50 and 6/21/2023 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Ghana Energy Sector Transformation Initiative Project (P163984) including 31 women) have received training in relevant topics.
