The project is expected to be fully disbursed and close ahead of the planned closing date (by June 2024 in lieu of October 2024), with achievements surpassing end targets for all Project Development Objective Indicators. As of May 2023, the project has supported a cumulative 227,000 beneficiary households across 4 cohorts with mobile cash transfers and a comprehensive economic inclusion package. Beneficiaries of cohort 1 to 3 have indicated an increase in earnings thanks to program participation. While cohort 3 beneficiaries (75,000 households) have exited the program earlier this calendar year, cohort 4 beneficiaries (100,000 households) are expected to receive their last cash transfer payment in December 2023. The implementation of economic inclusion activities for the last cohort has seen some delays: while 6/19/2023 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report CI- Productive Social Safety Net (P143332) initial activities have been rolled out (including life skills and entrepreneurship training in rural villages), implementation is expected to be accelerated over the next few months. The operationalization of the social registry (RSU) continues to face delays, linked to delays in developing the RSU’s Management Information System (SIG). The delivery of the SIG by a contractor is supported by the onboarding of two experts within the Ministry in charge of solidarity and fight against poverty, as well as technical assistance and close follow up by the World Bank team.
