The other 2 EPC contracts (Gola- Shahjahanpur and Badaun-Bilsi-Bijnaur) are in advanced stages with completion expected by end-March 2022. The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for management of COVID-19 are being strictly followed at all active work sites. Designs for remaining 3 roads under Phase II are under finalization and procurement will be initiated in the coming months. Component 2: Institutional Strengthening of PWD: PWD has established a web-based Project Management Information System (PMIS) which is operational and being used for regular monitoring of civil works contracts. Gender assessment on select roads was carried out and recommendations being considered in Phase II road designs. Procurement of consultant for upgradation of RAMS is underway. Component 3: Road Safety: Overall the road safety activities are progressing slowly with procurement process of Road Safety PMC for PWD and Transport Department in progress. There is no progress in the Road Safety activities under the Traffic Directorate as formal direction from the state on the process and protocols for establishing UP Highway Police (UPHP) is pending.
