(ii) road rehabilitation works under Component 2 has progressed from 58 percent in November 2023 to 72 percent as of April 2024, (iii) all procurement actions have been completed and only one activity is on advanced stage of signature, and all contract management actions in the procurement dashboard (STEP) have been addressed and there are currently no red flags, and (iv) safeguards corrective action plans (SCAPs) for four fatal incidents under the project have all been fully implemented. Component 1: Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Feeder Roads. The performance rating is satisfactory. Several feeder roads work contracts have been completed and under maintenance, however three contracts have experienced delay in implementation. As of April 30, 2024, the project 5/24/2024 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Integrated Feeder Road Development Project (P158231) has rehabilitated 1,176 km of unpaved feeder roads (against a target of 1,300 km) and the average implementation progress of the feeder road rehabilitation works stood at 90 percent. Maintenance of the feeder roads are following level of service, and all roads are in good condition. Component 2: Rehabilitation of Primary Road Network. This component is upgraded from moderately satisfactory to satisfactory. The implementation of roadworks under Component 2 has improved from 58 percent in December 2023 to 72 percent in April 2024. 47km of paved primary road (against a target of 67.7km) have been completed. The rehabilitation works are expected to be completed by September 2024. A monitoring consultancy contract is in place to manage the implementation performance of the works contract. Component 3: Capacity Building and Project Administration. This component is rated moderately satisfactory. Project administration at ANE is improving, particularly following the creation of a dedicated PIU to manage environmental and social safeguards responsibilities. The hiring of key PIU staff requested as part of the 2021 suspension lifting action plan has been finalized. Two additional PIU staff, that is a senior transport engineer, and an accountant are in process of recruitment to enhance project management. The implementation of SEA/SH mitigation measures is ongoing with a service provider in place.
