Following a pilot which was evaluated in December 2022, the project was scaled up and launched in the five regions outside of Nouakchott (Hodh Gharbi, Hodh Chargui, Trarza, Guidimakha, Assaba). More than 6,215 youths have registered - of which 4,129 are women - to participate in the training program. All (8) non-governmental organizations and firms for the implementation of the life skills training and the entrepreneurship support component have been hired. The 5 life skills training modules with 21 lessons have been developed. Trainers have been trained. The life skills training and orientation trainings have started and will be followed by technical- and entrepreneurship trainings. In addition, the project has signed 11 agreements with public training and professional development centers. The government has established a functioning Management Information System (MIS) and Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and has proactively launched the communication strategy on the national, regional, and local levels.
